A major new player has entered the current fake moon race. While traditionally it’s been a two horse affair, we can now add a third name to the pot, and it’s a big one: China!
Within a year they pledge to land a probe on the never before explored ‘Dark Side of the Moon,’ and then follow it with manned expeditions.
Their probe will spend a few days checking out the Dark Side, just for fun, and then will tour around to the bright side in order to prove that the USA never made it there.
“The universe is like the ocean: the moon is like the Diaoyu Islands and Mars is like Scarborough Shoal,” Ye Peijian, head of China’s moon missions, said in a 2017 interview with state TV, using China’s names for contested territories in the South China Sea. “We will be blamed by our descendants if we don’t go there…and others get there before us.”
‘We plan to mess around a bit, just to build suspense. Things are more exciting that way. It won’t take very long for our rover to scour the alleged Apollo landing sites. They will be happy to show once and for all that no one has ever landed there,’ Ye Peijan continues. ‘They will be very happy to show that we were the first. Soon after that we will plant our flag, and there will be no going back.’
China plans classic celebration of moon landing
Images of their plans show that the astronauts are practicing to do just that. Once they make the first moon landing, they will be sure to send back images like this:
After which, the astronauts will send back images of their celebrations, like this:
And then like this:
Once the Chinese Eagle has landed, President Xi Jinping will release a video of himself doing this:
Following that, the Chinese citizenry will start posting thousands of images to this effect:
The celebration will be massive. It is a major opportunity to claim global supremacy, while at the same time bringing us out from under the lie that’s been hanging over our heads for the last half-century.
While the USA and Russia continue to invest mega-dollars into their own fake moon races, China is planning to slide in as a dark-horse and go there for real. This is bad news for the fading global superpowers, but, in the long run, great news for us.
What does this mean for the future?
We all know that our number one mission here as a species is to find a way off this planet before the sun burns out or explodes. Ultimately, though it’s nice to win races like this, it really doesn’t matter which country figures it out, so long as someone does.
Granted, getting people on the moon doesn’t do us much good. The moon will get wiped out at the same time the Earth does. But at least it’s a step in the right direction. And we haven’t had many of those lately!
And, as they say, when you do something great, even if it’s small, CELEBRATE! So you might as well click here and get the T-Shirt!
