People around the world are bracing for impact as a group of meteors approach earth. Will they smash into us? Who knows? How bad will it be? There’s now way to say.
We know that meteor impact wiped out the dinosaurs. It could be bad. Probably it will be the end.
The End or A Beginning
The origins of life on Earth remain a mystery. One theory is that God did it. One theory is that things just randomly started being alive. It’s easy enough to poke holes in either theory, depending on what you want to believe. But a new theory has come into play.
It posits that life arrived on the back of a meteor. (Or meteors.) And then built the pyramids and did all kinds of cool stuff.
The phenomenon is called panspermia. The long and short of it is that a meteor crashes into a life bearing planet. The impact throws other rocks out into space. These rocks then crash into a different planet, carrying some residue of the living organisms it borrowed from Planet #1.
Could it be?
It’s as good a theory as anything. And we may find out as soon as this weekend. If a meteor lands near you, check it out. Maybe it will have some friendly passengers! If you see a rock blasting off after the meteor hits, grab on. It might be your only hope. Hang on tight and go start life on a new world!
Or, maybe we’re just living in the simulation, and someone out there is having fun with us. In which case, who cares!
