It’s been a few days since Canada officially legalized marijuana. This is all well and good. People are happy. No more worries!
But there are still troubling issues to overcome. Censorship, one of the great curses of the modern world, still abounds. Take this video, for example. Cypress Hill, Insane in the brain. When played on Canadian television, you can’t help but notice that the word ‘bong’ is still bleeped out. Oh no! We may feel free, but we are still being oppressed!
This oppression will not stand!
Tales from a bygone era
Insane in the brain was a big hit in it’s time. But today this song would no longer work. Back in the day, when marijuana was against the law, Cypress Hill wasn’t too fond of police officers. The police officers would always try to come and snatch their crops. Not cool! And then the cops would get mad because when they would go to raid Cypress Hill’s pad they would be off in the night deuce cad. (?) It was a classic lose-lose situation. No one was happy. It was one of the many negative examples that were a consequence of the war on drugs. Fortunately, that’s all a thing of the past.
In the modern world, there are none of these worries, on either side. No more fear, hate, anger. Everybody can just get along!
SO STOP CENSORING US! Free speech is very important. Maybe the most important!
Trouble brewing in happy land
And in other alarming news, it’s been a few days since they legalized marijuana in Canada. And supplies have almost run out!
The party is on! (while it lasts) Then we freak out like the world of warcraft kid.
Yes, it will be bad. Maybe this is what Cypress Hill was warning us about all along.
