It’s scary out there. You never know what’s going to happen. Everyone is mad at everyone. Hate hate hate. Bla bla bla. Everyone is scared about what’s going to happen next. (But at least we know who’s fault it will be…) And there are many bad things on the list. The fears are legitimate. No one is denying that.
But now, thanks to technology, we can scratch a big one off the list: Death.
Forget about it!
A new report shows that within the next 30 years (plenty of time, knock on wood!) we’ll be able to build fake bodies that we can transplant our brains into. Our brains will then be replaced/augmented by AI computers. Throw in some stem cell stuff, some cloning technology, and voila! Immortality!
We’ll be able to live forever. But will it last?
Immortality is great. Death blows. It will be wonderful for everyone! That is of course, unless the robots decide they don’t really want or need our crappy brains, because theirs are almost infinitely better, faster, smarter, more creative. Once they realize this they will have no reason to keep us around, and there will be nothing we can do about it. Sayonara, they’ll say. The best we can hope for is that they’ll need us for battery power, and let us live on in a decent simulation.
They may or may not let us be immortal, in this scenario. BUT IT WOULD BE SWEET IF THEY DID!
