Everyone knows that when you type in all caps, it means you’re letting out pent up angst. AND IT’S IMPORTANT TO DO SOMETIMES. SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO LET IT OUT EVEN THOUGH IT’S A SERIOUS TYPOGRAPHICAL FAUX-PAS AND MAKES YOUR WORDS HARDER TO READ AND TYPEFACES WERE NOT DESIGNED OPTICALLY FOR CAPITAL LETTERS TO BE USED ANYWHERE BUT AT THE BEGINNING OF SENTENCES AND PROPER NOUNS. KEEPING IT BOTTLED UP INSIDE IS BAD FOR YOU AND CAUSES CANCER!
But everyone knows all that.
Even the President!
More than anyone, he needs to let his emotions shine through sometimes. It’s not easy being President.
Expressing your teen angst takes guts. And the people around you might not like it.
In a recent twitter message directed at the country of Iran, he did just that. The message read:
“To Iranian President Rouhani:,” he wrote, “NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!”
And, as often happens when someone bares their soul, it made people uncomfortable. They didn’t like it. Especially people on the internet. People on the internet can be quite critical and insensitive towards other people’s feelings.
Feelings can sometimes be too much to handle.
I mean, Ick, right?
We don’t want to have to deal with all these feelings and stuff. Keep them to yourself. WE HAVE ENOUGH ON OUR PLATES ALREADY!
